Tŷ Santes Fair, our church and community center was built to replace the former St Mary’s, Compton Road, Skewen. The original St Mary’s was built in 1905 as part of the Welsh Revival and set up specifically as a mission church. After many happy and fruitful years of worship there, it was recognised that the original building was no longer fit for purpose, that we were no longer playing an active enough part in the life of the community outside our walls and that we needed to rediscover God’s vision for our role.

The painful decision was made to replace St Mary’s with a Church and Community Centre, continuing as a place of worship and ministering to the needs of those around us, who in turn keep us grounded and remind us that Jesus intended His Church to reflect His love outwards into the world.

Opened in Sept 2018, Tŷ Santes Fair (literally “St Mary’s House) was blessed and dedicated by Bishop June with the prayer, “Bless all who work and worship here, that in tireless service of others they may share in the saving ministry of Christ Your Son, who is Lord forever and ever.”

We provide a variety of activities, religious and non-religious aimed at promoting all aspects of well-being – spiritual, social, emotional and physical.

We work as Tŷ Santes Fair to co-ordinates activities for people in our community and with the Celtic Credit Union and we hire out the premises at other times.
